Dr Lorenzo Garagnani is an internationally renowned adult and paediatric Consultant Hand Surgeon and Aesthetic Doctor. He obtained his Master Degree in Medicine & Surgery with Distinction at Bologna University (Italy) in 2002. Subsequently, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic & Wellness Medicine and completed the Specialist Training programme in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Italy and specialist Fellowships at adult and paediatric Plastic Surgery Departments and at Hand Units in the UK (Oxford, Windsor, London). He also obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr Garagnani is Honorary Reader (Associate Professor) at the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine of King’s College London university, and a founder and joint Lead of the Hand Unit of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS hospitals in London (UK). He also practises at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, the London Bridge Hospital and The Portland Hospital for Women and Children. He is the Medical Director of the SE1 Medical Aesthetics clinic in London.
Dr Garagnani is past President of the Pediatric Hand International Society of Surgeons (PHISOS) and the current President of the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSoGB). He is an examiner for the Diploma of the European Board of Hand Surgery (EBHS) and member of the Examination Committee of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) and of the International Traveling Fellows Committee of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). He is the Director of the International Bone Research Association (IBRA)’s London Upper Limb training centre and Fellowship.
Lorenzo Garagnani is regularly faculty at international courses and congresses and has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His current research main focus is on innovative techniques to increase procedures safety and is the first hand surgeon and aesthetic doctor in the world to hold a Masterclass dedicated to his own published hand rejuvenation injection techniques.
He teaches and trains medical students, trainees, Fellows and Consultants from all over the world.
In 2022, Dr Garagnani was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy in recognition of his surgical career and coordination of a task-force of volunteers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
